Professor Xu Bo Got His Article on the 20th CPC National Congress Spirit Published in Russia’s Top Think Tank “Valdai Club”
Recently, an article titled “20th Congress of the CPC and China’s New Vision of the World Order”, written by Professor Xu Bo at the Northeast Asian Research Center of Jilin University, has been published by Valdai Club, a top Russian think tank, in both English and Russian languages. The article has been widely viewed and followed on Russian social media.
The article systematically explains the important propositions put forward by the CPC’s 20th National Congress Report on building a community with a shared future for mankind and a new type of international relations, and analyzes the leading role of Xi Jinping’s diplomatic thought in promoting major-country diplomacy and peripheral diplomacy with Chinese characteristics in the new era. It is stressed that facing changes in the world, the times and history, China, adhering to the principles of amity, sincerity, mutual benefit and inclusiveness in diplomacy and upholding justice while pursuing shared interests, has taken an active part in global governance, advocated against the concept of a zero-sum game, maintained strategic stability of major-country relations, and actively promoted the development of a more just and equitable international order. The article holds that the successful convening of the 20th CPC National Congress has brought new opportunities for the stable development of Sino-Russia cooperation. China and Russia can carry out foreign policy interaction in promoting the construction of a multipolar world, maintaining stability in Eurasia, jointly coping with climate change, and deepening cooperation in the field of high technologies.
Initiated and established by the Russia’s Council on Foreign and Defense Policy, “Valdai Club” is the most influential international think tank in Russia today and also a vital think tank for Russian president and its administration. The annual conference, personally attended and addressed by President Vladimir Putin, is an important platform for the international research community to learn about Russia’s domestic and foreign policies.
